WELCOME TO GAME SHOW TRIVOLUTION

Game Show Trivolution has eveolved constantly since my first show in Ellenton in August of 2010, I wanted to find a way that incorporated the fun of trivia with the excitement of Game Shows that you see on TV. Part of that excitement comes from the unpredictability that I have built into the show.

While some elements are consistent week-to-week, others have a great range of flexibility. Why?

My goal is to have everybody in contention through all five rounds of trivia play. The game is always evolving and every once in a while I tweak the Game Show to keep the competitive balance in check.

Predictably, this can lead to some confusion. So, this page is my effort to relieve that confusion.

Trivia and Scoring Elements
There are five (5) rounds of trivia with up to five (5) different categories each week.

Your host will ask the question and tell you what type of answer they are looking for – first letter of a word or name, numerical, multiple choice, etc

In the first four rounds, we have a feature called “Go Wide”. It simply will let guess twice at a question before time is up to earn half of the points if either one is correct.

Each question in the first two rounds are worth four points apiece and can earn an extra bonus point if your team is the fastest to the correct answer.

In Round 3, we play the Impossible Question round with a numeric answer. Closest team gets 30 points. Everyone else gets ZERO.

Round 4 increases the points for a correct answer to 6 and a fastest bonus of 2.

Round 5 is the toughest. 10 questions worth 10 points apiece if you are correct. It is a five poiunt bonus for the fastest correct answer. In this round, a wrinkle called Evil mode is introduced where an incorrect answer causes your team to lose 10 points.

Final Game Show

After the 5th Round has been corrected, the teams that are in 1st through 4th place continue onto our Final Game Show with between 2 and 4 teams.

Teams use their phones as buzzers to play against one another. Winner is the nightly champion.

Bonus Game

Nightly Champion plays our bonus game for a shot at $500 or more in cash. This is done in two phases.

1st Phase: 5 Easier questions with no time limit for answers. Wrong answers are OK, but a perfect 5 out of 5 means a bonus helper for Phase 2.

2nd Phase: Contestant chooses a random question by number from a pre-written questions bank. Contestant has 15 seconds to answer each one. If contestant is stuck, they may elect to use a helper and have an audience member help then with the answer. Any incorrect answers will end the game with no further prizes.

Game Show Trivolution is unique with bonus points available.

5 Points – Check in on Facebook before the game begins at your location

I use Facebook and Meetup keep the game active throughout the week. It’s almost like you are playing the Game Show every day.

To maximize points, check in with the page each afternoon for about 3-5 minutes to see if there is an opportunity to score extra points at your weekly game show. Here is a schedule of what happens on the Facebook page week-to-week (Sunday to Saturday).

Sunday: Suggest a category that you want to answer questions to either on the Facebook page or on our app buy clicking the Suggestion icon. This gives you the opportunity to win 10-points for answering questions on a subject you are knowledgeable in. Dependent upon the number of suggestions, one to three are chosen at random each week. Suggestions reset each week. If you do not succeed, suggest, suggest again.

Monday:  Our GST Newsletter is sent to our subscribers. If we have a show, watch for the status update giving you the opportunity to earn 5-points by telling me you will be in attendance.

Tuesday: The 10-point ‘Secret Bonus’ question is now released as a part of #hottubtriviatuesday. If we have a show, watch for the status update giving you the opportunity to earn 5-points by telling me you will be in attendance.

Wednesday: If we have a show, watch for the status update giving you the opportunity to earn 5-points by telling me you will be in attendance.

Thursday: If we have a show, watch for the status update giving you the opportunity to earn 5-points by telling me you will be in attendance.

Friday: Free Answer Friday is posted by 12:00 noon. See the answers by clicking this link. If we have a show, watch for the status update giving you the opportunity to earn 5-points by telling me you will be in attendance.

Saturday: This will be our time to reflect on the week, tell you about upcoming promotions, etc.
